Traders Dodge Downed Trees, Forgo Grooming to Reach New York After Irene [Bloomberg]

iQmedia's Marc Peritore was interviewed during post-Irene Monday morning commute by Bloomberg for an article excerpted below:

“I left my house at 4:30 a.m., and it was 45 minutes to get in with no traffic,” Marc Peritore, who works at trading- technology firm iQmedia Networks, said at Wall and Broad streets. “I took the Holland Tunnel and just parked on the west side and walked from there. The city seemed empty. I was really surprised. The highways were really empty.”

iQmedia Networks and friends to play football for the Special Olympics of New Jersey

Special Olympics logoIQmedia Networks is proud to announce our involvement in the Special Olympics New Jersey 2011 New York Giants Snow Bowl. Our Team will compete in a Flag Football Tournament on February 13, 2011 at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

Special Olympics New Jersey is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization that provides sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization operates on an annual budget primarily funded through individual, corporate, civic and foundation dollars that make up more than 98% of the annual operating budget.

Funds raised through the Snow Bowl help to advance the goal of Special Olympics New Jersey, to provide free year-round training and competition in 24 Olympic-type sports to more than 21,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

iQmedia completes installation of Wireless Network at the Historic Grolier Club of New York

Grolier ClubiQmedia in partnership with Nycom Networks has completed a 7 story Wireless Network of the its historic institution located on East 60th street in NYC. The wireless network is to serve as wireless internet access for club members and patrons. The historic architecture and public galleries required extensive planning and a focus on aesthetics.

Founded in 1884, the Grolier Club of New York is America's oldest and largest society for bibliophiles and enthusiasts in the graphic arts. Named for Jean Grolier, the Renaissance collector renowned for sharing his library with friends, the Club's objective is to foster "the literary study and promotion of the arts pertaining to the production of books."

The Club maintains a research library on printing and related book arts, and its programs include public exhibitions as well as a long and distinguished series of publications.

iQmedia Implements Terminal Services Network at Thurgood Marshall Federal Courthouse

CourthouseIn the spring of 2007 Cauldwell Wingate and iQmedia completed the installation and configuration of their field offices located at the Thurgood Marshall Federal Courthouse at 40 Centre Street. iQmedia was hired to develop a solution for Cauldwell Wingate which incorporated a secure and flexible design for remote users, while providing secure internet access for Bovis and the GSA.

iQmedia designed and installed a Secure Windows 2003 Terminal Services solution. This allowed users to access files and email over a secure VPN to their main office located in Midtown Manhattan. iQmedia will also provide onsite technical support for 40 Centre Street for the project duration which is expected to be completed by November 2010.

Cauldwell Wingate has been retained as construction manager for major infrastructure upgrades at the Thurgood Marshall U.S. Courthouse, located at 40 Centre Street. This New York City Landmark consists of a 6-story base in addition to a 26-story tower. Beginning in Spring 2007, The GSA will initiate three critical phases including: selective bulk demolition and hazardous material abatement; complete exterior renovation; followed by mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installation. The last phase of the project will also include interior construction and MEP infrastructure upgrades. The project will also include sustainable, or "green" elements, including a rain water harvest tank, a possible green room, recycling of demolition and construction waste and the reuse of existing finishes.

The Thurgood Marshall U.S. Courthouse rehabilitation project at 40 Centre is listed in New York Construction’s 2006-07 Top Projects Started list. The project is led by construction manager Bovis with general contractor Cauldwell Wingate. The 33-story, 720,000 square foot tower is home to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and offices for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

More than 5,000 cyclist to ride towards a cure for cancer at the 36th annual ACS Bike-a-thon

iQmedia will be fielding a team of cyclists in the 36th Annual American Cancer Society Bike-a-thon. The 65 mile ride begins at 6.30am on July 13th at the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia, PA.
